Idaho State Map - Counties, Cities, Boise Map

Here is the Idaho state map with counties and cities including Boise Map.

Idaho State is located in the mountainous area of the Rocky Mountains in U.S. Boise is its capital; also it is the largest city in Idaho. People residing in Idaho are known as ‘Idahoans’. It was constituted on the 3rd of July 1890. It was the forty third state to be in the Union. As compared to other states Idaho is the fourteenth largest state in United States. It is situated among the mountains and encircled by states from all sides like Washington, Nevada, Wyoming, Oregon, Montana, Utah and province of Canada of British Columbia. Nevertheless the system of locks and dams on rivers like Columbia River and Snake River has made the Lewiston city, one of the inland seaport which is farthest on the Pacific coast.

The population of Idaho is about 1,567,582 as per 2010 census. Idaho is also called as the “Gem State.” It is because all types of gems are available in Idaho. Stones such as star garnets are found only in Idaho and in the Himalaya mountains of Pakistan and India. Also star garnets which have 6 points are founded only in Idaho. It is also known as the “Potato State” because potato is the most liked crop and therefore there is a saying in Latin ‘Esto Perpetua’, meaning Let it be Forever.

Counties in Idaho

Idaho has forty-four counties. Every county are given a license plate prefix i.e. as per the 1st letter of the name of the county. If a county has same starting letters then it is given license plate prefix as per the occurrences like Adams and Ada, since both start with the letter ‘A’ Adams will be given 2A and Ada, 1A, since in dictionary, as per the alphabets, Ada comes first and then comes Adams. But for other counties like Kootenai, Idaho, Nez Perce, Elmore, Shoshone, Valley, Washington which begin with different letters, the license plate prefix of these counties will be as per the 1st letter of the county name excluding the number.
