Iowa state was formed in 1846 on twenty-eighth of December as the twenty- ninth state of United States. In 1834 Iowa was a part of Michigan, later part of Michigan Territory was divided and it became Wisconsin Territory. It was further divided and Iowa was formed. Iowa is situated in the middle of the western part of U.S. It is also known as the ‘American Heartland’ because earlier American Indians lived in large numbers in Iowa. It is also called as ‘Food of the World’ and there is diversity in the following areas:

• Cultures,
• Lands and
• Economy.
Later it progressed in many fields like manufacturing, services related to finance, production of green energy, processing and biotechnology. Iowa was a section of the colony of French people and later subsequent to the Louisiana Purchase, residents laid a base for agricultural economy in the Corn Belt.

In 2010 approximately the population of Iowa was more than three million. Iowa’s capital is Des Moines; also it is the largest city. Iowa State has been credited as the safest place to reside.

Iowa State has ninety nine counties. Des Moines and Dubuque are the first counties to be created in 1834 while Humboldt County is the last county. As per the constitution of Iowa the counties should have an area of minimum 432 sq miles and no county should be made less than that size through changes in boundaries. Kossuth County is the largest county with an area of 973 square miles whereas Dickinson County is the smallest county with an area of 381 square miles. Polk County which has a rating of population as 657 people per square miles is the most populated county which includes the capital city, Des Moines. By 1846 around forty four counties were created and later in1851 on January 15th, more forty nine counties were created.
